Since 1952, local Southern California area chapters affiliated with NMA…THE Leadership Development Organization (NMA) and interested Individual NMA members have comprised the Southern California Area Council (SCAC) of the NMA, Incorporated.

For the mutual benefit of its individual members and member chapters, SCAC provides channels for exchange of information and ideas that increase the effectiveness of, and adds value for, its local chapters and individual members.

SCAC engages in combined activities designed to promote the purpose of the NMA, facilitate professional development, offer participation in community activities, and conduct such affairs as pertain to the combined membership in advancing the purposes of the NMA.

Each member NMA Chapter is represented on the Council Board of Delegates, (the policy making body of the Council), by three Delegates. The delegates serve on the Council's Board of Delegates as representatives for the Chapter; and they encourage its chapter's members to participate in Council activities.
