Cell Phone Program

The BLSCLA NMA presented three boxes of donated cell phones to Cindy Mitchell, the Director of the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program for Brevard County.

The Salvation Army’s Brevard County Domestic Violence Program provides emergency cell phones to victims of domestic violence. Your old cell phones are collected, reprogrammed to 911, and provided at no cost to victims of domestic violence, which enables them to quickly call law enforcement in an emergency. Over 2000 phones were handed out last year.

Our chapter will be continuing this program, so if anyone has any used or even broken cell phones that they'd like to donate for this worthy cause, please contact Nick Hopkins (861-4504) or Shirley Jenkins (476-5404).
